Ministry of Education
Over a period of years Calibre is delivering substantial upgrades to a large number of primary, secondary and special schools across Singapore to provide Singapore’s children enhanced education opportunities.
The upgrades come as part of a number of Ministry of Education (MOE) initiatives aimed at rebuilding and updating the infrastructure in schools to provide more spaces for active learning, performing and visual arts, sports and outdoor education, and support services.
These include the Programme for Rebuilding and Improving Existing Schools (PRIME), Primary Education Review and Implementation (PERI), Special Education (SPED) and Flexible School Infrastructure (FlexSI).
While exact specifications have varied across each of the schools, the architectural designs are modern and vibrant, bringing Singapore’s education into the 21st century and creating more conducive learning environments. Calibre has provided structural and civil design services for:
- New indoor sports halls
- New classroom buildings with modular designs
- Specialised rooms for music and other arts
- Facilities for student care centres and other support services
- Conversion and extensions of existing buildings
- Associated infrastructure, including new linkways, school entrances, and performance stages
To date, Calibre has completed upgrades for 31 schools which fall under one or more of MOE’s upgrading programmes, including Canberra Primary School, Greenwood Primary School, North Spring Primary School, Northland Primary School, St. Hilda’s School, and Yio Chu Kang Primary School. Our team is currently delivering works for 11 other primary, secondary and special schools throughout Singapore.
