Pilbara Port Authority CCTV Upgrade

Pilbara Port Authority

Dampier, Western Australia, Australia

The Pilbara Port Authority (PPA) and Australian Customs & Border Protection Service identified the need to better protect the boundary of the Dampier Port. The PPA earmarked 4 locations within the Port precinct to achieve CCTV coverage of key areas of the boundary and other areas of interest.

G&S Engineering were engaged to assess and propose a solution. This involved collaborating with Calibre's technology specialists to design a system utilising the existing copper communications infrastructure to transport the existing camera/encoder signals. However, the eight new cameras/encoders also needed to be connected via a new single mode fibre network integration. The current hardware and software was also replaced.

The works included the technology solution plus all electrical, civil and fabrication works seamlessly delivered using the broader Calibre capability.

Project highlights:

  • Successful integration of existing and new equipment and technologies.
  • One client interface to deliver a complete solution.
  • Cost-effective delivery of a state of the art outcome.
