Changi General Hospital
Ministry of Health
Catering for a community of 1.4 million people in eastern Singapore, the Changi General Hospital is an award-winning hospital with over 1,000 beds.
In an effort to provide more holistic, integrated health care to the community, the hospital is currently being transformed through remodelling of the main hospital building and construction of two new complexes.
Calibre provided accredited checker services for the construction of the new Medical Centre which will provide much-needed outpatient services. Covering 37,531m2, the 9-storey complex includes:
- 5-storey podium for medical clinics
- 4-storey administration office
- 3-level basement carpark
- 2 pedestrian link bridges
- Vehicle linkages to existing hospital
The project was initiated in November 2013 and is currently under construction using a top-down construction method. This challenging task required our design team to be flexible and responsive as change in sequence of construction requires redesign of the structure.
