G&S Engineering were contracted to repair a wharf pile at Cape Lambert that was damaged by a tug during a cyclone. The preparatory scope involved the procurement and fabrication of a 12m sleeve, 18m brace and bottom clamp, sourcing of an installation spread and completion of all installation analysis and procedures.
Our team then mobilised a Jack Up Barge (JUB3) at Point Samson, complete with support vessels, mobile crane, EWP, generator, accommodation, grouting spread, dive spread and all necessary materials and equipment to complete the installation scope. This involved the cleaning of marine growth, installation of sleeve, clamp and welded brace, filling the pile with aggregate and subsequent grouting of the pile and pile/sleeve annulus.
Work was successfully completed in challenging conditions, on budget and to the highest quality within a limited shut down window.
